Film: Rebel
Starring: Prabhas,Tamanna,Deeksha Seth
Director: Raghava Lawrence
Producer: J.Bhagavan,J.Pulla Rao
Banner: Sri Balaji Cine Media
Music: Raghava Lawrence
Story:
Rishi (Prabhas) the energetic young man comes to Hyderabad in search of a notorious killer Stephen Roberts. He was not able to trace out him then he comes to know that there is only one person who can lead him to Stephen. She is nandini (Tamanna) cute and sweet girl, her residence is in Bangkok so in order to meet her Rishi goes to Bangkok.Narsaraju (Brahmi) is the assistant who accompanies him to Bangkok. And he meets nandini and makes her to fall in love with him to accomplish his desire. But why he is in search of Stephen Roberts? And how Nandini knows him? Whether Rishi gets success in meeting Robert? Forms the rest of the story.
Analysis:
Lawrence is such a director who feels that he is multitalented and puts his fingers in all possible departments. As a boon he got 2 innocent directors to show his talent in various ways. But he is not aware of his weirdness; he goes in his own way and feels that he can impress the audience. This is root cause for the boring and quirk scenes in the film.
In rebel movie there are lots of quirk scenes especially that kissing a dead body on lips and chopping the dead body seems to be very foible. And the rest are the ‘puli dialogue’ and the concept that Deeksha Seth having three mothers and Brahmi and Kovai Sarala involving in a coldblooded murder and the fight sequences.
No technical values, first half are filled with silly comedy while the second half has got some emotional drama but it was not up to mark due to more length.
And the list goes on like this, the best part of the film is Tamanna he concentrated more on elevating this milky beauty and he is good in doing this only this. This movie can be watched to see Tamanna and to catch glimpse of Prabhas after a long gap. Only his presence can get give good openings but to become a commercial success, Lawrence should have some luck.
