A North Charleston police officer of South Carolina has repeatedly shot a black man who is a driver after an altercation at a traffic stop on Saturday. It revealed clearly that the officer used excessive force. The 33-yr-old officer, Michael T. Slager fired eight times as the man, Walter L. Scott, 50, was running, who died shortly after the incident. The officer said prior to release of video that he had feared for his life because the man had taken his sten gun in a fight. The mayor announced that the cop is charged with murder at a news conference which could lead to a death penalty.
