India’s star cricketer Virat Kohli on Friday broke his silence over angry reactions of fans after his and team’s failure in ICC World Cup 2015 semi-final against Australia. Kohli lashed out at critics, who blamed his girlfriend Anushkha Sharma for his poor show in semi-final game of World Cup. While talking to press at a promotional event of his IPL side Royal Challengers Bangalore Kohli revealed how “hurt” he was to see reactions people gave on one defeat team faced in the prestigious tournament.
“I have contributed a lot to Indian cricket in the last 5 Years. But still, the way people treated me after the World Cup 2015 semi final, I am very sad and disappointed. The good thing about this incident is I learnt a lot about life,” he told.
“I am hurt the way people dragged my personal life into my profession,” he added.
Kohli commented People who targeted his personal life need to feel ‘ashamed’ of what they have done.
Soon after Kohli’s cheap dismissal in semis, miffed fans began attacking his actress girlfriend Anushka Sharma on social media for her presence in the Sydney stadium during the match.
