Vijayawada Lok Sabha MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Tuesday withdrew his petition in Delhi High Court. He sought the court to direct the Speaker Meira Kumar to accept his resignation to the membership of the Lower House, submitted two months ago. It may be recalled that Lagadapati in his plea contended that the Speaker has not acted on his resignation, despite his recurrent reminders for the last two months. It is learnt that Lagadapati withdrew his petition on the request of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath. It is worth mention here that the resignations of 13 Seemandhra MPs were rejected by the Speaker, while perceiving the decision of the MPs merely emotional.
