The results of the recent India TV ' Times Now and C'Voter survey are predicting boom for the ruling UPA under Sonia Gandhi's leadership. According to the survey, regional parties will play key role in forming government after 2014 elections by winning almost 240 of the 543 Loksabha seats.
It is opined that Bharatiya Janata Party led NDA would improve its 2009 tally of 159 to 186 in 2014, the Congress'led UPA would fall from 259 to a low of 117 seats. In that case, the support of AIADMK, Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Trinamool Congress will be crucial for Sonia's team. However it seems like Jayalalitha, Mamta Banerjee and Mayawathi are already on the fallout with Sonia Gandhi, so there is no question of their support to UPA in 2014 for now. The survey says Jayalalitha will win 28 seats, Mayawathi will fetch 31 seats, Mamta might get 23 seats. Also Jagan and TRS will win 13 seats each in AP, and their support will also be crucial to Sonia's UPA.
Only if the three powerful women give support to UPA, then there are chances for Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister. But looking at the powerful political developments in the state, it looks like these three women will stay away from Congress and ruin Sonia's dreams.
