YSR Congress President YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday met the NCP President and union Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar and sought his intervention to stall the bifurcation of state . However, Jagan failed to get any assurance from Pawar on his demand to oppose Telangana bill in the Parliament.

The NCP Supremo had been supporting the Telangana cause and also met TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao several occasions in Hyderabad long back.    

Emerging out of the meeting lasted for more than 15 minutes in Mumbai, Pawar said his party took a policy decision to support the telagnana statehood. Jagan's demand for taking state Legislature into confidence and amending Article 3 of the Constitution for carving out a separate state were important issues. Jagan had also submitted a memorandum to him through which he had communicated the mood of the people of Andhra Pradesh to keep it united, he added.
