In a historic event of the new State of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister-designate Nara Chandra Babu Naidu has been unanimously elected as Telugu Desam Party Legislative Party leader today at the Senate Hall in Sri Venkateswara University, alma mater of Chandra Babu, from where he did his PG in Economics. While Chandra Babu Naidu's name has been proposed by KE Krishna Murthy, his name is unanimously backed by all the TDP legislative members. Leaders P. Sujatha, Nimmakayala Chinnarajappa, Pathivada too have supported Babu's Candidature. Babu has been elected as TDLP leader for fifth consecutive term in TDP.
TDP MLAs are going to send a letter to Governor ESL Narsimhan informing him about Chandra Babu Naidu's election as TDLP Leader followed by a formal requisition by Governor to the party to form the government.
Chandra Babu Naidu is going to swear-in as the first Chief Minister of AP on June 8 in Guntur. With his swearing-in, the long-Governor rule in AP will come to an end and new government will take over the reigns.
