With the TRS now at the helm of affairs, land auctions as well as allotments made to private firms and individuals over last few years is now reportedly under the scanner. The Deputy chief minister and revenue minister of Telangana, Mohd Mahmood Ali has reportedly said the cabinet will be taking a decision soon. This is regarding all land allotments done earlier.
This includes land allotments made by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HMDA), and AP Housing Board (APHB) to various firms in Ranga Reddy district over last ten years.
The APHB, HMDA, and APIIC have handed over land worth around Rs. 5,000 crore between 2005 and 2010 in Kokapet, Gachibowli, Shamshabad and Jubilee Hills for getting funds for the Jalayagnam project.
The Golden Mile Project was auctioned at Kokapet that had fetched Rs 700 crore, while a land parcel at Jubilee Hills secured Rs. 330 crore to the HMDA. TRS vociferously opposed land auctions saying that government land in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy was sold out for a pittance by the YSR led Congress government.
