In all Twelve of the 45 persons on a Kasi Pilgrimage from Nellore and Prakasam district have taken ill with food poisoning after they ate at a hotel near the Howrah Railway station.

Following an SOS from stranded pilgrims AP Chief Minister Sri N.Chandrababu Naidu directed the Chief Secretary and other officials at Delhi to admit sick persons in Apollo Hospital at Kolkatta, One other pilgrim has been admitted at the Marwadi Hospital, near Howrah.

The pilgrims who included 8 women, three children and 11 elders had left Kavali on July 29th and belonged to Kavali and Ongole towns Besides Sri Satishchandra, IAS, Delhi , Smt Rekha Rani, joint collector of Nellore are monitoring the situation.
