The 'extended' Christmas vacation for the family of Bhavani Devi (38) turned out to be tragic after a Low-Intensity IED (Improvised Explosive Devise) blast on Sunday night on Church Street took away her life leaving her family in grief. Ms Bhavani is survived by husband Balan Kumar and two daughters. Victim Bhavani Devi was from Chennai and her family resides in Chennai's Mount Road.
Bhavani Devi had come to the Bangalore four days ago along with her family for Christmas vacation. The bomb blast took place when she was heading towards Hotel Empire for dinner after visiting Amoeba Bowling Alley. Bhavani Devi was rushed to Mallya Hospital but in vain as she succumbed to her grave injuries at around 10.50 PM making it a "Sad" Sunday for the victim's family.
According to hospital authorities, the woman was gasping when she was brought, she had an injury on the left side of her skull and the brain tissue had come out. Although doctors tried to revive her situation and tried vigorously for one-and-a-half-hours but couldn't save her from death. Another victim in the bomb blast Karthik has an injury in his upper back with some blast particles in it but doctors could save him and he is out of danger and presently under medical treatment.
