We already reported that the Information and Broadcasting Ministry kept a seven day ban on Telugu News Channel NTV which is a part of Rachana Television broadcasting. The channel officials challenged the ban and approached the high court and the latest verdict from the court is a sigh of relief for the news channel.
Hyderabad High Court imposed a stay on the 7-day ban imposed on Telugu news channel NTV by the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry. Upon hearing a write petition by Rachana Television, Justice SV Bhat has passed this order. The reason for the issue is the telecast of a midnight program with the name 'Cine Colors' for four months in the year 2012. The program features several obscene clippings. After receiving several complaints against the program, Information and Television Broadcasting ministry imposed this ban from February 3rd to February 9th, 2015. NTV version was that all the songs plays were certified except for the voice over of the anchor and Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act wasn't violated.
