IT Employees weren't happy with the Telangana IT Policy after layoffs to nearly 2,000 techies in the past one year. They brought to the notice of IT Minister KT Rama Rao on how hundreds of Software Companies haven't been adhering to the State's Information and Communications Technology (ICT) policy and laying off the employees citing restructuring.
Techies complain the current IT Policy willn't be of much use to them and its never easy to bounce back after an IT Firm sacks an employee. After being served Pink Slips, IT Professionals have to deal with many issues like unemployment and depression.
Forum of IT professionals (ForIT) demanded stringent rules to monitor if the companies were adhering to IT Policy. Reinstatement of employees sacked citing restructuring, Grievance Redressal Mechanism in all firms and Creating sufficient number of jobs in accordance with the IT Policy are the other demands. KTR promised to look into the matter and make necessary changes to the IT Policy.
ForIT is also planning to approach High Court against the poor treatment IT Employees have been receiving.
