It looks like there is a lot of shifting happening in the city of Hyderabad when it comes to big establishments. Telangana CM KCR is looking at lifting Secretariat from Tank Bund and throw it towards Erragadda area. While a lot of debate is going on about that, here is one unconfirmed official news.
This is about the US Consulate which is currently located at Begumpet area. According to sources, it would be shifting to Hitech city near Madhapur in the future. Few inside officials reveal this is going to happen in the process of the next five years. It is heard that the US authorities are going to build the new premises with their own norms and standards.
Since its inception in Hyderabad, the US Consulate has been getting a lot of traffic in terms of visa applicants and given the fact that it is at a critical congested area, there could be issues such as security and space. So, by about 2020, you will have to go to Madhapur instead of Begumpet to get your visa stamped.
