Salman Khan's bodyguard Ravindra Patil, was the prime witness in the hit and run case. When the accident took place, the bodyguard was sitting beside Salman Khan. He has reportedly said to the actor to drive slowly as he found that Salman Khan was in a state of drunkenness, but the actor has ignored his suggestion, which led to the tragedy. The bodyguard was the first person to have filed an FIR against the actor. Afterwards, he has tried to withdraw the complaint under pressure. He has even not attended the court on number of occasions and finally he was arrested in 2006 for not turning up for the court hearings. Afterwards, the bodyguard died due to Tuberculosis.
