In yet another case of negligence and rash driving, 42 people are killed when a Hyderabad bound Bangalore travels bus caught flames today morning at around 5.20am on highway in Mahabubnagar district. At 110 km away from the capital of Andhra Pradesh, the incident took place.

On the early hours of Wednesday, a bus belonging to Jabbar Travels tried to overtake a car and got its front tire punctured. After losing control, the bus had hit the divider before which the diesel tank went into flames. Unable to control the speeding bus, driver and cleaner of the bus have jumped from the cabin.

As the bus happens to be an air conditioned one, flames have engulfed at jet speed and killed many before they actually realized what is happening around them. Many persons are choked to death due to suffocation, and the central locking system prevented them from breaking glasses and escaping. As they are in deep sleep, the number of casualties is high.

While seven persons managed to escape from the front cabin including driver and cleaner, around 42 people are killed in this ghastly accident, where their bodies are charred beyond recognition. Basing on DNA samples, police are trying to analyze bodies and hand them over to relatives. However private bus travels has only given a list of 29 persons as per their record.

There are five software employees among the dead, and all of them are returning to Hyderabad to celebrate Diwali with their family.
