The demand for resignation of Seemandhra MPs is being shouted heavily by the protesters in the region who are agitating to keep Andhra Pradesh united. Majorly, Congress MP and union minister Chiranjeevi's resignation is the main target of Samaikya protesters. But it looks like his resignation is of no use as it cannot either dethrone Congress or make them take a backseat on bifurcation. Congress MP from Rajahmundry, Undavallli Arun Kumar stated on Sunday that resignations will not stand chance to sink the ruling Congress party at centre. 'Already Congress party is in minority, and if 19 Seemandhra MPs resign then it will continue with the same minority. Nothing happens to Congress party led UPA2 until some oppositions make an issue of it', said Undavalli. Even political analysts feel that Congress party is unmoved of resignations submitted by few Seemandhra MPs including Chiru for the same reason. Though Congress is not having magic figure, or if it loses it magic figure, it is opposition parties that should challenge them over a no-confidence motion and overthrow the government. But with elections just four months ahead, none is interested to scare UPA, as Congress is already on the verge of losing. Analysts feel that Congress is playing Telangana trump card only by keeping all these things in mind. Like Undavalli said, the formation of Telangana state could be stopped only by legal means, and by taking the issue to Supreme Court. Maybe rather demanding a resignation from Chiranjeevi, his admirers and fans should ask him to lodge a petition in Supreme Court against Sonia's decision of splitting Andhra Pradesh. What say folks?
