Ever since Thursday's noon session in Parliament, Vijayawada MP-unflinching United Andhra Pradesh protagonist Lagadapati Rajagopal has become the talking point of nation. His unthinkable, unprecedented act- using Pepper Spray, although to save himself from opponents (as claimed by him), set tongues wagging.

What's irony is his immediate defense on national Televisions- pointing out Pepper Spray as defense arsenal- convinced majority people of Andhra Pradesh (Seemandhra). The Man of the moment is basking in glory. This act has even won him a sobriquet- Nirbhaya of Andhra Pradesh (pun intended). Few others heaped praises on him, hailing him as the Bhagat Singh of Andhra Pradesh for his act on Parliament. Especially, he has become a hero in his home turf Vijayawada. Lagadapati has been a staunch supporter of Andhra Pradesh and revered as the martyr of Samaikyandhra movement.

However, not many know (people outside Andhra Pradesh, National media), that Lagadapati always does unforeseen, unthinkable acts in order to highlight, heighten the cause he believe in. He is known for endearing mass with such populist acts.

Here is a case-study: Rajagopal had sit on a fast-unto-death in favour of United Andhra Pradesh in December 2009. Government forcefully disrupted it after 8-days and arrested him where he was admitted to Vijayawada government hospital. State Human Rights Commission then intervened in the issue and asked State government to admit him in NIMS, Hyderabad for better treatment. Contrary to it, State government, helmed by then CM Rosaiaha, didn't agree to it, fearing protests from Telangana supporters. Naturally, this didn't go well with Rajagopal who protested that why can't he be treated in his State Capital and why can't he be allowed in to Capital city of State and denied medical treatment in Vijayawada hospital.

On Dec 20, 2009, notwithstanding camped police forces (300-odd), he had ran away from Vijayawada government hospital in his car, in protest. He tactfully escaped with the aid of his supporters in a cinematic way keeping government on toes. The next day Rajagopal showed up at NIMS hospital, Hyderabad and got treated. This made Rosaiaha to bore the brunt of Telangana activists flak compelling him to suspend Vijayawada police commissioner and other officials. This one incident says all about Lagadapati.

So, Rajagopal, the true champion of Samaikyandhra movement, has always done unforeseen, unprecedented things to register his cause. That's the other story of Rajagopal, a rare breed of politicians.
