Notwithstanding the severe criticism from Opposition parties and members within its own party, Congress government is swiftly moving its steps to carve out new state of Andhra Pradesh by bifurcating Telangana from the mother state. While the manner in which Speaker Meira Kumar tabled Telangana Bill in Parliament continues to set tongues-wagging, Congress is busy chalking out plans to pass the Bill by hook or crook.

Breaching every possible convention, flouting every rule in Indian Constitution, Congress is determined to give statehood to Telangana grossly ignoring the grievances of Seemandhra and giving a raw-deal to them.It is learnt that Union government chalked out a plan to pass the much controversial Bill, that got rejected by State Assembly and Council, in just one single day in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Government is palnning to get it done through voice vote in a most undemocratic manner and set a bad precedent.

The vote on account budget is scheduled to be introduced in the Parliament on Monday (Feb 17), and likely to include most of the important bills (poll schemes) on the very next day (Feb 18). After finalizing the important bills on Tuesday, the government will implement voting on Telangana Bill on the very next day i.e. on February 19 (Wednesday). According to reliable sources, a debate will be initiated on February 19 and on the same day the Telangana bill will be approved immediately. On the same day, the bill will be introduced in Rajya Sabha. To this effect, the UPA government has been chalking out a plan. KCR has apparently conveyed the same to Sonia Gandhi.

Efforts are reportedly on to get the bill passed through both houses even one day before the conclusion (Feb 21) of the Parliament session. If all goes well according to this game plan of Sonia, T-state would be a reality by February 19 without addressing issues like new Capital, funds deficit, power and revenue sharing, water distribution, Polamavaram submerged areas!
