The government of Telangana did not release the funds for the fee of many engineering students for the current and previous academic years. The government is planning to rename and modify the scheme and the process is still under progress, Meanwhile, the engineering colleges are having a pathetic situation as they are not able to manage the functioning of college without funds.
A recent example is the famous Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) gave notices to the students to pay fees immediately. CBIT also mentioned in the notice that they would not get any amount from Telanagan Government as part of Fee-Reimbursement scheme. CBIT expressed that its inability to pay salaries to the staff. This is not only the case with CBIT but also many other engineering colleges in the state.
It is learnt that Telangana Government has to pay dues for an amount of 625 crores to Government Colleges. There are 14 lakh students waiting for government response in fees reimbursement. TRS wanted the scheme to be named as FAST but there is no sign of moment in the implementation of the scheme.
