Allegedly because of Renuka's "delay", an Air India flight got stuck for over 45 minutes. What's more shocking is that the "delay" in Renuka's arrival because of her "shopping". According to reports, Renuka had travelled from Delhi to Hyderabad on Friday (Feb 20) on Air India's Chicago-Delhi-Hyderabad flight AI-126. While the flight was scheduled for departure at 7 PM, Renuka apparently didn't turn up. Only after she finally turned up at 7.04 PM, pilot started the flight departure. It's said that despite repeated announcements, Renuka didn't turn up. Meanwhile, Renuka in her usual style denied "shopping" as the cause for delay and claimed that she had requested for a cart to take her to the departure gate, which took time in arriving.

Miffed with this, passengers complained the issue to Air India authorities. Air India has instituted an inquiry into the incident, say reports. Following this incident, the civil aviation ministry has also instructed Air India to implement an electronic baggage identification system which would identify the baggage of passengers who do not make it on time.
