Telangana senior leader and Congress Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao has joined the list of politicians who are demanding "Special Status" for Andhra Pradesh. A day after Congress president Sonia Gandhi shot letter to PM Narendra Modi on according special status to the successor state, VH stated that Telangana Congress is in favour of granting special status to AP as declared by then PM Manmohan Singh in Parliament.
Lamenting BJP for not keeping its poll promises, VH censured Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu's stand on the issue. "It was Venkaiah Naidu who demanded UPA for 10 years of Special Status to AP then. Now, it's not fair for him to dodge the issue claiming there are practical problems," said V. Hanumantha Rao.
Meanwhile, VH also sought KCR to pass a resolution in Telagana Legislative Assembly against Land Acquisition Ordinance to be brought by Centre in the coming Parliament session.
