Former Indian pace bowler Sreesanth who disgraced himself and the nation when he was caught in match fixing in Indian Premier League in 2013, was attacked with a knife when he was in jail. Family members claimed that Sreesanth was attacked with a knife during his jail term.

Sreesanth's brother in law Madhu Balakrishnan made this sensational revelation to media today in Kochi. Sreesanth is facing trial in Delhi. Balakrishnan, a popular singer, husband of Sreesanth's sister said Sreesanth himself confided to him after he returned to home in Kochi after 26 days in Tihar jail in May 2013.

Recollecting the incident, Balakrishnan said Sreesath was attacked by a rowdy sheeter while he was taking walk inside the jail compound and caught him with a knife. Jail authorities nabbed him only after Sreesanth was injured on his hand.

He said they don't want to make any controversy out of it and donot intend to pursue the matter. Verdict on Sreesanth is expected to be out next month. Sreesanth expressed confidence that he will be absolved of all charges.
