
The collection of land for building the world-class Capital City in Andhra Pradesh has practically been finished. The new Capital City will have a total area of about 122 sq. km., which is equivalent to 34,000 acres of pooled land. The Andhra Pradesh Government has assessed that the total cost of construction of Capital City will be around Rs 1.10 lakh crore.
The Andhra Pradesh Government has finished the Herculean task of land collection in a very rapid pace.
Talking about the issue, CRDA Vice-Chairman and Minister for Municipal Administration, P. Narayana said, “32,100 acres of land pooling is a world record and I thank land owners, farmers and officials who worked for it. The foundation stone for the new capital will be laid in May 2015 and the first phase will be completed by June 2018.”
CRDA is still continuing collection of the lands and the Government is confident of completing the target of collecting 34,000 acres of land.
